Description
You'll soon know when it's time to repair concrete. You'll start to see the gravel coming through and, let's face it, it is only going to get worse if left untreated. That's where Permafix comes into its own.

This is a product that you aren't going to find in your local DIY store. It is tough, easy to apply and knocks the spots off conventional cement repair mortars. This is another of our products that was originally developed for industrial use and is therefore tried and tested in the toughest of environments. This version is specially formulated for use in the home, where (presumably!) you won't be driving a forklift truck over it.

Use it on damaged and worn patios, paths, driveways, garage floors and similar. It will give a professional finish that looks great and will help prevent nasty falls. It really comes into its own on damaged step edges where tradtional cement mortar simply wouldn't stick - Permafix will, to make steps safe and sound.

Permafix Concrete Repair is an incredibly strong product that repairs concrete leaving it looking as good as new. In fact it is so strong it is actually stronger than the concrete it is repairing.

Permafix Concrete Repair can be used to repair steps, holed or worn floors, or anywhere existing concrete needs a helping hand. You can even use it to build a little ramp between two areas that are on different levels, which is ideal if you need to get a wheelbarrow, wheelchair, bike or similar over an uneven surface.

It can be feather-edged, which means that you can vary the depth of the Permafix Concrete Repair to suit the surface you are working on. So you could start with a depth of 20mm and smooth it down to only a couple of millimetres at the edge, ensuring that you don’t trip on any raised edges and have a really professional looking finish.

Permafix comes in two parts – damp sand and a hardener, which you mix together with a trowel, although many people prefer to put on a pair of gloves and mix it by hand. Simply apply the mixture with a trowel and it will set in only 8-12 hours.

NB: Whilst you can use this product in colder weather, please note that the lower the temperature is, the longer the setting time will be.

Trade Secrets
Wipe the trowel with a cloth dampened with white spirit, then trowel over the area worked to prevent ugly drag marks.

Preparation & Application
Prepare It
Firstly, ensure the surface to be worked on is clean, dry and free from loose particles. We suggest you brush the area with a stiff broom or wire brush. If there is grease or oil then remove with Clean It Floor Degreaser.
If the surface to be filled is dry or porous, dampen with clean water immediately before you fill.
Do not use at temperatures lower than 10°C

Repair It
Each tub of Permafix Concrete Repair contains the mixture and a hardener. Mix them together with a trowel (or by gloved hand) until you have a smooth grey coloured mortar.

You’ll find that the mixture is stiffer and drier than traditional sand and cement and you’ll need to compress it with a trowel to work it into the area being repaired. The more you compress the product the wetter the surface becomes, which makes it easier to work with so keep compressing.

The usual screeding thickness for floors that receive heavy traffic is 10mm.

The working life of the product when mixed is about 10-15 minutes, depending on the amount of the product used and the temperature of the area being worked.

Trade Secrets
Wipe the trowel with a cloth that has got white spirit on it to prevent ugly drag marks and give yourself a professional finish.
